Description
Ael y Gwynt is a two-storey house that features rough cast render, which is now painted white. The roof is made of graded courses of small grey and russet slates sourced from Gallt y Llan quarry in Snowdon. There are two groups of chimneys made from red brown brick located on the ridge, each group consisting of a taller chimney and a pair of lower stacks; all stacks discharge to the sides and are topped with miniature slated roofs.
The elevation facing The Close has cross gables at each end, with the outer slope on the right side sweeping down to the ground floor and the outer slope on the left side nearly reaching ground level. Each gable has a pair of narrow small pane metal casement windows on the first floor. An asymmetrical gabled and slated porch is positioned to the right, with the left roof slope aligned with the right cross gable. The porch features a Gothic arch and an entrance doorway behind which is the original door with a lozenge-shaped window. To the right of the porch, there is a group of three windows. Above and to the left of the porch, a small pane metal casement window is located at the eaves where the roof slopes down between the gables. To the left of the porch, there is a group of five small round-headed windows.
