Description
The former brewhouse at Pen-yr-Allt is a tall rectangular building with one-and-a-half storeys, set into a hillside. It is constructed of rubble with a slate roof and features kneelered rubble gable parapets. At the rear, there is a tall chimney that was overgrown at the time of inspection in January 1998.
The main front of the building faces the house and includes a boarded door with an early 20th-century part-glazed window to the left, both of which have exposed timber lintels. Above these is a wide three-pane 20th-century casement window, also with an expressed lintel. There is an upper entrance at the rear, which has a boarded door and a timber lintel.
To the left, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension with a catslide roof and a brick parapet at the rear, featuring a plain, modern entrance on the side. Inside, there is a modern beamed ceiling and a 19th-century oven entrance at the rear.
