Description

Home Farm consists of a group of farm buildings located to the north of Hafodunos Hall. The complex features a formal cart-house and barn range at the front, along with two single-storey cow-house ranges that create a complete courtyard. The buildings are constructed from rubble, primarily with slate roofs, although some areas have asbestos sheets and iron sheeting.

The main range includes seven bays of cartsheds on the left, which have cambered arches and voussoirs. Above these is a granary loft with glazed windows that have stone voussoir heads. There is some brick repair work towards the gable. The central bay is recessed and features a hipped roof with a high cambered arch that allows cart access into the stock yard. The right section appears to be a barn, with camber-headed ventilators and several blocked openings, including a camber-headed door on the left. A date-stone situated between the left two windows displays a stags head and the inscription 'S S Esq AD 1842' above 'C M S AD 1940'. There is also a high cart entry on the north gable end.

The courtyard ranges include a large hipped-roofed building to the left of the entrance range, which serves as a spacious, well-designed stock court. This area features mostly timber trusses with outer cast-iron columns inscribed 'MWW'. Opposite the entrance range are single and two-storey buildings, along with a single-storey open-fronted shelter shed that completes the yard on the right.
