Description
Venezia is a 2½-storey shop and house with a rendered front and a slate roof, forming one half of a mirrored pair with No 145. The shop front is asymmetrical, featuring a larger window on the left with a transom and a narrower plain window on the right, both topped with a cast-iron grille. The entrance is recessed and has a diaper-patterned floor, with a half-glazed door beneath a deep cast-iron grille. The first-floor oriel window on the left and the smaller window on the right are replacements in the original openings. A flat-roof dormer has been added later.
A cast iron veranda spans Nos 131 (2 bays), 137 (3 bays), and 143 (1 bay), consisting of six bays in total. It is supported by round posts, with the lower parts fluted and topped with Corinthian capitals. The veranda features foliage brackets with incorporated rosettes, leading to a foliage openwork fascia and brattishing with corner finials. In the third bay, the fascia is designed as an iron grille displaying the word '[D]EGANWY' in raised letters, above which is a crest and a panel that reads 'J E JONES'. The sixth bay has a similar crest, but its original name panel has been removed.
