Description
Bryn Hyfryd & Bro Dawel, Abergwyngregyn.
Symmetrically composed pair of single-storey estate cottages in simple 'vernacular revival' style with gabled wings projecting to either side of central range. Snecked rubblestone with large slate-stone lintels; slate roof with deep overhanging verges and decorative king-post trusses to gables. Symmetrical front of 1:2:1 bays, gables having 3-light windows, central range with 2-light windows, of 18 and 12 panes respectively; entrances to outer returns. Prominent brownish brick ridge stacks with paired diagonal shafts to gabled wings and 4 diagonal shafts to central range, all with rendered bases and stepped capping.
Bracketed lean-to hood on outer return of Bro Dawel has been infilled below to form a small porch; lower rubblestone range attached to rear, and small shallow-pitched extension.
Interior not inspected at time of Survey.
