Description
This decorative gate, along with its railings and gatepiers, dates from the second quarter of the 19th century. It features a single wrought iron gate set on plain iron posts. The gate has two tiers of vertical bars, with the lower bars ending in scrolled spear heads, while the upper part displays an applied "V" symbol, representing Sir Robert Williames Vaughan of Nannau, Bart. Above the gate is a small segmental overthrow adorned with scrolled decoration. On either side of the gate, plain spear-headed railings rise from a low rubble wall, which ends in plain rubble piers that are narrower at the top.
