Description
The former house at Rhedyn Cochion, also known as Ffranc, is a late 17th century single-storey farmhouse constructed from rubble, partly built on rock, and topped with an old, undulating slate roof. The eastern gable end features a large, projecting stack with plain capping and weather-coursing. On the southern side, which serves as the entrance, there is a plain 19th century cart entrance to the left, a boarded door to the right, and an unglazed window beyond. The northern side has a boarded door, which was formerly a window, to the left, and two blocked windows to the right. The western gable end has later buttressing.
The building has four bays and includes a modern dividing wall that separates off the chimney bay. Inside, there are pegged collar trusses and a flagged floor, with a fireplace featuring a bressummer located beyond the wall.
