Description

Bryn Teg is a pair of opposing cottage units cleverly designed as interlocking 'L's, creating the appearance of a single rectangular house in the Tudor vernacular style. The building features rubble construction over two floors, topped with an old slate roof and two tall central stacks. The main elevations are symmetrical, each with a central entrance.

On the west side (No 1), there is a storeyed and gabled porch with octagonal corner turrets reminiscent of the early 16th century. It has a modern door with a returned label above, and modern flanking windows with labels at both ground and first-floor levels. The upper windows slightly break the eaves and are set within gabled kneelers, featuring modern glazing and slated bargeboards.

No 2, facing east, has a plain gabled storeyed porch with original three-light mullioned and transomed wooden windows on both floors, except for the ground-floor right window, which is modern. It also has returned labels, with decorative leaded lozenges still visible in several upper lights. The entrance has been converted into a window, and a modern porch extension is attached to the front right bay. The north gable end displays the date 1839 and the initials RW V AM made from knapped slates.

There are low contemporary service blocks to the right and left, which are shared and feature hipped slate roofs. Both the east and west sides have boarded doors, and there is a modern extension to the north.
