Description

Pont Rhyd-y-Fen is a road bridge featuring two spans and four small adjacent flood openings. It is constructed of rubble, with rough-dressed voussoirs forming the segmental main arches, which are recessed below arch rings made of narrow stones, typical of the region. On the upstream side, there is a shallow triangular cutwater at the center, along with outer buttresses. The carriageway has a slight hump and is bordered by slab-coped rubble parapets. The flood openings are located on the western side and consist of plain square openings with slatestone lintels.
