Description

This is a cast iron water lift pump located on the road to Penowern. It features a vertical fluted pipe that rises to a Doric cap, with a spout that has a scrolled bucket hook, which is leaf-like where it connects to the main pipe. There is a round bar iron handle that is hooked at its end. On the rising pipe, there is a lion rampant depicted on an oval plate, which has raised lettering that reads "Norton Hamar," although the lower half is obscured by the collar of a later-added angled stay bar. The pump has recently been painted.
