Description

This is a cast iron lift pump, likely dating to the 18th or 19th century. It features a four-inch diameter pipe that rises to a widened and fluted top chamber. A long, curved handle terminates in an acorn shape. A scroll-shaped bucket hook is attached to the head of the discharge pipe. A manufacturer’s badge, surmounted by a lion, is affixed to the side of the pipe. Two stay bars and a collar secure the pump’s position. The pump has recently been painted.
