Description

4 Heol Tan-y-bryn is part of a row of houses numbered 1 to 12 on Heol Tan-y-bryn in Abergynolwyn. The houses are constructed from irregular coursed slate rubble and feature slate roofs with red roll clayware ridges, deep eaves, and verges. Each house is two storeys tall and has a single bay with a double depth plan, including a lateral passage leading to the entrance. The entrance features a four-panelled door with raised mouldings and a narrow overlight above. Ground floor openings have flush stone lintels, and each floor has sixteen-paned unhorned sash windows, with the upper floor windows being smaller and narrower. The chimneys are grouped on the party walls. At the rear, there is a regular range of two-storey slated service wings, which are whitewashed on the sides and also have a slate roof with red roll ridges. There are lean-to additions at the rear. The upper panels of the door are glazed, and the windows are original.
