Description

Wynfryn comprises a range of twelve houses built in the early 20th century, located on Heol Tan-y-bryn in Abergynolwyn. The houses are constructed from irregular courses of slate rubble, with slate roofs featuring red clay roll ridges, deep eaves, and verges. Each house is two stories high, featuring a double-depth plan with a lateral passage leading to the entrance. Each property includes a four-panelled door with raised mouldings and a narrow overlight, as well as flush stone lintels over the ground floor openings. Upper floor windows are sixteen-paned sash windows, with the upper floor windows being smaller and narrower, though these have been replaced and lack glazing bars. Chimneys are grouped along the party walls between the houses. A regular two-story slated service wing, whitewashed to the sides and having a slate roof and red roll ridges, extends to the rear, along with lean-to additions. The doors date from approximately 1900.
