Description
The haybarn at Tan-y-braich is a Grade II listed structure built from rubble stonework with gables and piers, topped by a slate roof. It measures approximately 6 meters long and 4 meters wide, consisting of two bays. Each side features two large ventilation and loading openings, along with a pitching door located in the west gable end.
Inside, the barn has a central truss made up of principal rafters that are lapped at the apex and secured with a bolted collar, which supports two tiers of purlins. There are also secondary trusses in both bays that are similar in design but do not include the collar.
