Description
Garreg Lwyd Cottage is a single-storey, two-room house built from locally sourced rubble stone, featuring a slate roof that likely replaced the original heather thatch. The cottage has stone-coped gables and end stone stacks with projecting weather courses. At the west end, there is an attached two-bay cowhouse that was constructed at the same time as the house. The cottage includes a boarded door and four-pane sash windows. The west section of the house has a widened bay at the rear, which was probably added for a kitchen. There is also an attached outbuilding for farm purposes at the rear of the cowhouse, which has a single door and is otherwise windowless.
The interior of the house was not accessible during the inspection. Inside the cowhouse, there is a central truss with principals that spring from the walls and a lapped collar, supporting two tiers of purlins. The cowhouse contains four stalls against the gable end for cattle.
