Description
Gelli Cadwgan Farm is a 1½-storey house constructed from painted rubble stone, topped with a steep corrugated asbestos-cement roof. It features a roughcast stack to the left of the center. The entrance lobby has a boarded door, with two enlarged 2-light windows to the right. A mid-20th century 2-light raked roof dormer is positioned to the right of center. To the left of the entrance is a 19th-century extension, which includes a 2-light early 20th-century casement window beneath a wooden lintel. The left gable end has a small attic casement. The rear of the house has windows that match those on the front, including a raked roof dormer. Attached to the right gable end is a lower, late 20th-century cow shed, and the gable end of the house above it is clad in corrugated asbestos sheets.
The house retains a 17th-century plan. The hall to the right of the entrance features two cross beams with ogee stops. The fireplace has been infilled, and to the right of it is a wooden fireplace stair. Two small inner rooms are also spanned by a cross beam with ogee stops. A cruck truss is visible between the hall and the inner rooms, although it is not exposed in the attic. In the attic, the end cruck truss, which abuts the cow house, is exposed and retains its original framing.
