Description
Ty Gwyn Mawr is a building that consists of a warehouse on the right (east) side and domestic accommodation on the left (west). It is three stories tall with a cellar and is constructed from coursed, roughly dressed local stone. The slate roof features broad stone stacks with dripstones and capping that mark the extent of the domestic area.
The main front of the building faces south, with the domestic accommodation on the left, which has a two-window arrangement and a doorway that is accessed through a modern grit rendered porch on the right. The windows are 6-pane horned sashes. The warehouse on the right has a double boarded door at ground level and two blocked windows in the upper stories. The east gable has boarded doorways on each floor and a winch hole located at the apex of the gable. The rear (north) wall of the dwelling features 6-pane horned sash windows on the ground and second floors, while the first floor retains the original 16-pane hornless sash windows. The warehouse section has small openings between the stories.
The interior was not inspected during the survey.
