Description
The carthouse and granary at Rhiwerfa is a building constructed from local slate stone rubble, topped with a slate roof and featuring slate-clad verges. It consists of two bays, with the carthouse located on the ground floor facing the cowhouse. The wide opening of the carthouse is supported by a timber lintel, which was likely originally covered with slate. Access to the loft, which contains the granary, is provided by an external stair at the road end, leading to a boarded door with a cut slate lintel above it. Beneath the stair, there is a rectangular dog kennel.
