Description
H Rowlands is a pair of three-storey late Georgian shop premises that have been combined, with the right side (number 9) stepped up at the eaves level. The buildings are constructed of local rubble with later whitened render, featuring a slate roof and end chimneys that have plain cornicing and weather-coursing. The shop front on the left (number 11) is unaltered from the 19th century and includes a simple wooden fascia with a moulded cornice and a large four-pane sash window with marginal glazing. There are flanking entrances with part-glazed modern doors and narrow rectangular overlights. The right-hand shop front (number 9) has a similar fascia with a bracketed cornice and a large six-pane window, with an entrance to the right and a door as before. Both units have single six-pane sashes on the upper floors, with the upper ones located under the eaves and featuring projecting stone sills. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
