Description
China Treasure Takeaway is a three-storey late Regency house and shop, likely built at the same time as the adjacent number 1. The building is constructed from local rubble and features a slate roof with end chimneys and plain cornicing. The late 19th-century shop front has a simple wooden fascia and a bracketed cornice supported by panelled pilasters, which frame the central entrance and large plain-glazed windows on either side. The entrance has a part-glazed modern door.
On the first floor, there are 20th-century steel-framed windows, with the window on the right set in an enlarged opening with a concrete lintel. The second floor has plain 2-pane sash windows, all with projecting stone sills and flat-arched lintels. To the left of the shop front, there is another entrance with a modern door and a plain overlight, providing access to the upper floors. Above this entrance is a plain 2-pane sash window, and under the eaves on the second floor, there is an original unhorned 6-pane sash window. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
