Description
This building, known as Nigel J. Elson, Roofing Repairs, is a three-storey structure featuring a two-window front, constructed with snecked masonry. It has a moderately pitched slate roof with plain eaves, exposed purlins, and bargeboards.
On the gable end, there is a single vertically paned sash window with a stone lintel. The first floor has two similar windows, and there is a sympathetic modern sign bracket. The ground floor showcases three light shop windows, also with stone lintels, and a central doorway topped with a stone lintel. The doorway features four flush panel double doors, with the upper panels being glazed.
The left side of the building presents a good three-window elevation, made of coursed rubble masonry, with an advanced bay on the left. There is a raking dormer on the second floor to the left, and two small two-light windows set under the eaves to the right. The first floor has three vertically paned sash windows with stone lintels, similar to those on the left, along with an advanced bay that includes a doorway to the right, also with a stone lintel. There is an additional vertically paned sash window to the right.
On the right side elevation, there is a small window under the eaves. The first floor features two fixed light four-pane windows with stone lintels, similar to a former doorway located at the ground floor left.
Inside, the building retains transverse ceiling beams and a staircase, among other features.
