Description
No. 8 St George's Terrace in Old Barmouth is an early 19th-century, three-storey house. The ground and first floors make up No. 8, while the upper floor is designated as No. 9. The building is constructed of rubble with some remnants of render on the facade, topped by a renewed slate roof and end chimneys featuring weather coursing.
The facade is symmetrical, with a central recessed entrance that has a modern boarded door. There are windows on all three floors, with the upper ones being modern 2-pane casements. On the right side, the ground and first floors have original 16-pane slightly recessed sash windows. To the left, there are 4-pane early 20th-century casement windows, with the ground floor window partially boarded up. A single bracket from a late 19th-century porch canopy is still visible.
There is an off-centre entrance to the upper flat (No. 9) located to the left, which leads from a lane at the rear and features a deeply recessed boarded door. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension to the east, built of rubble and slate, dating from the 19th century.
