Description
Nos 8 and 9 St George's Terrace in Old Barmouth is an early 19th-century, three-storey house. The ground and first floors make up No 8, while the upper floor is No 9. The building is constructed of rubble with some remnants of render on the facade, and it features a renewed slate roof and end chimneys with weather coursing. The symmetrical facade includes a central recessed entrance with a modern boarded door. There are flanking windows on all three floors; the upper windows are modern casements with two panes, while the right side has original 16-pane sash windows that are slightly recessed on the ground and first floors. On the left, there are early 20th-century casement windows with four panes, and the ground floor window is partly boarded up. A single bracket from a late 19th-century porch canopy remains. There is an off-centre entrance to the upper flat (No 9) from the lane at the rear, featuring a deeply recessed boarded door. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension to the east, made of rubble and slate, dating from the 19th century.
