Description
Tai-hirion is a building with a rear farm range, constructed from rubble stonework on boulder foundations and whitewashed, with walls that were formerly red painted. It features a grouted old slate roof and gable stacks. The building is low and two storeys high, with a symmetrical front that is slightly offset to the right. The ground floor has a central boarded door and small 19th-century 9-paned horned single sash windows, while the upper floor has 4-pane windows located just below the eaves.
To the east of the left end of the house, there is a long range of outbuildings that extend up the sloping ground. This range includes a stable closest to the house and three two-bay cowhouses, which have three boarded doors and small windows. These outbuildings are connected to the house by a raised stone-slabbed walkway and also have an old slate roof.
Inside, the building contains two rooms. The larger living room on the left features a matchboarded lobby behind the main door, while the narrower service room on the right is separated by a boarded partition. The living room includes a large gable end fireplace with a high set fire beam, a spiral timber stair at the side, and exposed ceiling joists. The single attic room has a central roof truss and a single tier of purlins.
