Description
Nos 5 and 6 Market Square form a mirrored pair of buildings, each with two-storey, one-window fronts. No 5 is rendered and features a full-height splayed bay window with a band course between the floors. No 6 has a six-panel door with an overlight, while No 5 has a modern glazed door. No 7, adjacent, has a pebbledashed three-storey, two-window front with a margin to the corner, and cill and lintel bands. Both buildings have slate roofs and rendered chimney stacks.
No 7 boasts an overall Victorian shopfront, complete with a cornice, pilasters, and broad sash windows flanking a central double door entrance. The pilasters and stallriser are adorned with Art Nouveau style tulip patterned tiles, which are also echoed internally to create dado and cornice bands. The left-hand corner of No 7 is rounded below the second floor, with a rendered left side and a similar rear. The rear of No 6 features sash windows set in a rubble wall. There is also a rubble wall between No 5 and No 62 High Street, which includes a boarded door.
