Description
13 Penlan House is a two-storey building featuring scribed rendered fronts. It has two windows for No 11, one window for No 13, and three windows for No 15. The roofs are slate, recently renewed for No 15, and there are very tall stone chimney stacks for Nos 11 and 13, with one stack having a stock brick flue. No 15 has a low pebbledashed chimney stack. The eaves are boarded. The first floor has sash windows, with Nos 11 and 13 having four panes each. The ground floor has modern shop fronts, and No 11 features a six-panel door with a splayed entrance. No 15 has a modern glazed door at the extreme right end and a splayed corner entrance supported by two cast iron pillars, with the shop front overlapping the corner.
The left end is pebbledashed with a modern window and a chimney stack at the rear. There is a slate-roofed, two-storey and attic cross range at the rear, which has a splayed corner facing Market Square. The gable at the rear of No 15 includes a four-pane attic window, while the rest of the area has been modernised.
The interior has been largely modernised but retains the original roof structure with chamfered purlins. It features dog-leg stairs, with the lower part boarded in and turned balusters further up, along with some panelled doors.
