Description
7 Market Square is a Victorian building featuring a three-storey, two-window front that is pebbledashed, with a margin at the corner and cill and lintel bands. The slate roofs and rendered chimney stacks belong to No 7. The shopfront has an overall Victorian style, complete with a cornice, pilasters, and broad sash windows on either side of a central double door entrance. The pilasters and stallriser are adorned with Art Nouveau style tulip patterned tiles, which are also used internally to create dado and cornice bands. The left corner of the building is rounded below the second floor, with a rendered left side and a similar rear. Nos 5 and 6 are a reflected pair with two-storey, one-window fronts; No 5 is rendered and features a full-height splayed bay window with a band course between the floors. No 6 has a six-panel door with an overlight and a modern glazed door. There is a small pane cellar window as well. The rubble rear of No 6 has sash windows, and there is a rubble wall between No 5 and No 62 High Street, which includes a boarded door.
