Description
The School House is a former school building, constructed with pebbledash and unpainted stucco, topped with slate roofs. It features a single large schoolroom that is single-storey high, with Jacobean style gables at the center of the west front and at both the north and south ends. The building has a dressed stone plinth. The gables are shouldered with two curves on each side, with a step between and a top finial. The end gables have ogee top curves and ball finials, while the west gable features quadrant top curves and a bellcote with a shouldered ogee-curved gable and ball finial. The copings are made of cement and have all been renewed.
The windows are of the plain flat cement mullion-and-transom type, with four lights at each end and two sets of three lights at the center of the west front. The glazing is 20th-century stained wood. Small louvred lights are set in the gables, surrounded by flush cement.
At the rear, there is a former teacher's house, which is also single-storey and has two parallel slate roofs with a stack positioned between them. The stack is made of rendered brick with panelled sides and features two diagonally-set shafts. There is a rooflight on the front pitch above the main window. The south and north sides of the teacher's house include a pointed doorway and a four-pane sash window. The south doorway has ledged doors and a radiating bar fan.
