Description

The Old Rectory is a former rectory built with stucco and slate roofs, featuring two brick ridge chimneys. It has overhanging eaves with gable timber finials and consists of two storeys with an attic, arranged in a 4-window range. The building has projecting gables in the second and fourth bays. The left three bays represent the original house, with the first gabled bay being the original center. This section retains an original attic lunette and has paired plate glass sashes on both the first and ground floors. The section to the left has lost its first floor and features a large ground floor sash. The section to the right serves as the entry, with large half-glazed doors and side-lights, and a 4-pane sash on the first floor. The added gable on the right has a pair of first floor plate-glass sashes with blank arches above, and two 4-pane sashes below.

Across the entire front is a veranda added in 1860, which has a slate roof supported by timber octagonal posts and fretted eaves boards. The veranda is divided into four sections, each with three bays, where the middle opening of each bay is wider. The second and fourth sections project with shallow open gables over the center bays. The veranda floor is made of slate. The right end wall of the house features a pair of plate glass sashes above a pair of 4-pane sashes. The rear of the building has a lower hipped section to the left and two gables of differing heights behind the center.

Attached to the north end is a single-storey outbuilding from the early 19th century, which has a slate roof and a curved northeast corner leading to the stable yard. The north end has a coach entry with double doors and a northwest attached gatepier. The front of the outbuilding is stuccoed, while the rear court is constructed of rubble stone.
