Description
Gorphwysfa is a house that was originally two cottages. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble stone and features a steep, slated close-eaved roof with fairly tall end chimney stacks. The left chimney stack is broad, made of rubble stone, and has dripstones and capping, while the right stack is pebbledash from the 20th century and may have been rebuilt. The house is one and a half storeys high and has three half-dormers that are offset to the right. The dormers are pebbledashed, with the left dormer featuring a surviving 12-pane sash window, while the other two dormers have 20th-century plastic windows.
On the ground floor, there is a door to the left aligned with the left chimney, followed by a window, another door, and a window that align with the dormers. The doors are 20th-century half-glazed, and the windows have cambered heads with 12-pane small hornless sashes. The left end wall is made of rubble stone. At the rear, there is a central wing with a brick end stack and a 16-pane sash window on the first floor to the north. It is said that there are small ceiling beams in the northern end and a narrowed fireplace.
