Description
This 19th-century rubble wall, reaching a maximum height of about 2.5 meters, is located to the east of Bridge House and gently curves outward and downward towards the estuary. Approximately a third of the way along the wall, there is a gap featuring a plain cast iron balcony, which is flanked by rendered rubble piers topped with cast iron fluted vases. The wall extends until it ends in a circular pier at the edge of the cliff. In the central section of this last part, directly opposite a flight of steps descending from the road in front of the Gatehouse, is a cyclopean, Tudor-arched slate entrance, with walls that slope upward to the left and right.
