Description

Bron Eifion and Sarn Helen are a pair of attached late Georgian houses, each two stories high and featuring three bays. They have hipped slate roofs with moulded eaves, and roughcast stacks positioned at the center and right, along with a pebble-dashed stack on the left. The front of the houses includes a veranda supported by wooden posts, which has a replaced roof that is hipped to the right. Each house features a central fielded-panel door, with glazed mid and upper panels for Bryn Eifion, set within a round-headed arch. This arch is flanked by thin Tuscan columns with moulded capitals, topped by a blank entablature and a neo-classical iron radial-glazed fanlight.

The walls are primarily roughcast, although original scribed stucco remains visible on the lower storey of the front. To the right, there is a canted bay with a 16-pane horned sash window, while the left side has a 12-pane hornless sash window. The basement includes 8-pane sash windows, with horizontal-sliding windows on the left side and vertical-sliding windows on the right. The upper storey features 12-pane horned sash windows. At the rear, there are 12-pane sashes in the outer bays of the upper storey and lower right, along with a small flat roof dormer to the right of center. A tall parallel three-storey rear wing has 4-pane sash windows.

The house maintains its original central plan, which consists of principal rooms on the ground floor and a kitchen in the basement. The central stair hall features an open-well staircase with a wreathed handrail, plain balusters, and moulded tread ends. The room on the left includes a slate chimneypiece and a late 19th-century cast iron fireplace adorned with decorative tile panels.
