Description
The Lodge at Haulfryn is a lodge house built in the Arts and Crafts style. It features a pebble-dashed exterior with a hipped roof made of pale grey slates and tall pebble-dashed chimney stacks supported by stone corbels beneath their caps. The building is one storey with an attic and has asymmetrical elevations arranged on a roughly square plan.
The small-paned windows are set nearly flush with the wall, and there are flat-capped leaded dormers. The front elevation has a roof that sweeps down low to the right, supported by a long timber beam over a recessed half-glazed door and a small-paned window. This beam extends from a stone corbel on the right end wall to a canted bay on the left, which features casement windows. Above this bay, there is a long 6-light dormer on the roof slope.
To the left of the outswept roof, a tall chimney rises asymmetrically from the right half of a gable, while the left half has a pair of casement windows at the eaves level. The ground floor includes a door at the center and a joined triple casement window.
On the east side, there is a central 3-light dormer and a two-storey canted bay window with a flat coped parapet that rises through the eaves to the right. The bay has single casements on the sides and double casements at the front. The ground floor features a door in the center with a window to the left. The roof extends over a lean-to on the north side, which has two tall stacks on the roof slope and a triple casement window in the lean-to's east end wall. There is also a long dormer on the roof slope.
