Description

The T-shaped agricultural complex at Ty Obry is built of rubble with slate roofs. The main long range runs north-south and consists of two adjoining barns, with the southern barn being the primary one. This barn is set into the hillside and features an old slated roof. There are entrances in the center of the east side and on the right side of the west, the latter having a catslide-roofed dormer. To the left, there is a rectangular open window with a loading bay beyond it. The later barn is stepped down from the primary barn, exposing part of the north gable of the earlier barn, which has 19th-century nesting boxes arranged in six tiers with slate ledges on its upper section.

The north barn range connects to the earlier range via a short later 19th-century link section that has boarded entrances on both the east and west sides. A modern steel-framed barn is attached to the west, while a low catslide extension with a corrugated iron roof is attached to the east, featuring three boarded openings. The upper north gable of this extension also has six tiers of nesting boxes, similar to the earlier barn.

To the west of the primary barn, there is a continuously-roofed storeyed range divided into three sections, with the central section advanced and the left section being a later 19th-century addition. Each section has boarded doors, with windows to the left of the central section and to the right. The glazing is 20th-century small-pane, re-used glass. The east gable features a small, squat end chimney with capping and weathercoursing. The interiors were not available for inspection at the time of the survey.
