Description
Pen Dinas is a two-storey building, oriented east-west, featuring a full-length catslide outshut at the rear. The exterior is made of painted roughly coursed rubblestone with slate hanging on the right gable end, topped by a slate roof with exposed purlin ends. The symmetrical front has a central entrance with a ribbed door beneath a wide glazed porch, flanked by three-light casement windows that have slate cills and two horizontal glazing bars in each light. Above the ground-floor windows, there are gabled eaves dormers with two-light casements that share the same glazing bar pattern. The building has integral end stacks, with the right stack featuring a slate drip and dentilled brick capping, while the left stack has been rebuilt above the drip.
At the rear, the thick walls of the lean-to are not an addition, as the external appearance might suggest, but rather the remnant of a single-storey cottage. Inside, the main part of the house has plain joists and a 19th-century straight-flight staircase aligned with the entrance.
