Description

This is a terrace of two-storey brick houses with a hipped slate roof and brick stacks. The windows are characterized by dressed limestone surrounds with monolithic jambs, featuring round heads with keystones in the lower storey. Two-light windows have wooden mullions, small-pane casements, and transoms in the lower storey.

No. 1 is set at right angles and faces Wexham Street, presenting a three-window front with the entrance to the right of centre. It has a boarded door with a round-headed overlight and a plain brick arch. The main Stanley Street elevation consists of smaller houses arranged in pairs of three bays, accessible through shared central arched passages leading to the back yards, where boarded doors are located. Some of these central bays have blocked windows in the upper storey. The left-hand window in the lower storey is inscribed with "Stanley Street" on the arched head. No. 2 is a smaller house accessed by a passage shared with No. 1. Nos. 3 and 4 form a pair. No. 5 is also a smaller house, accessed by a passage extending to the rear of No. 6. Nos. 6 and 7 are symmetrical three-bay houses, both featuring central round-headed entrances with boarded doors and plain overlights, with a blind window positioned above the doorway. A passage on the right-hand side of No. 7 leads to the rear and the entrance to No. 8. Nos. 9 and 10 form a smaller pair, and No. 11 is a three-bay house similar to Nos. 6 and 7. Its right-hand side wall, which is pebble-dashed and has two windows, incorporates a boarded door to the right.

The rear of the terrace features small-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows. This terrace is part of a group comprised of numbers 1 to 11 Stanley Street.
