Description
This is a terrace of two-storey brick houses with a hipped slate roof and brick stacks. The windows have dressed limestone surrounds with monolithic jambs, and round heads with keystones in the lower storey. Two-light windows feature wooden mullions, small-pane casements, and transoms in the lower storey. Number 1 is set at right angles and faces Wexham Street, forming a three-window front with the entrance located to the right of centre. This entrance has a boarded door, a round-headed overlight, and a plain brick arch.
The main Stanley Street elevation is characterised by houses arranged in pairs of three bays, accessed through shared central arched passages. These passages also lead to the back yards, where boarded doors are located. Some of the central bays have blocked windows in the upper storey. The left-hand window in the lower storey of one house is inscribed with the words 'Stanley Street' on the arched head. Number 2 is a smaller house accessed by a passage shared with Number 1. Numbers 3 and 4 form a pair, while Number 5 is also a smaller house accessed by a passage that leads to the rear of Number 6. Numbers 6 and 7 are both symmetrical three-bay houses with central round-headed entrances, each featuring a boarded door, plain overlight, and a blind window above the doorway. A passage on the right-hand side of Number 7 leads to the rear of the building and the entrance to Number 8. Numbers 9 and 10 form a smaller pair, and Number 11 is a three-bay house similar in appearance to numbers 6 and 7. The right-hand side wall of Number 11 has a pebble-dashed finish and contains a boarded door to the right.
The rear of the terrace features small-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows. The building is part of a group of houses numbered 1-11 Stanley Street.
