Description
22 Stanley Street is part of a terrace of two-storey brick houses, dating from the 19th century, featuring a slate roof and brick stacks. The windows are adorned with dressed limestone surrounds that have monolithic jambs and round heads with keystones on the lower storey. The two-light windows include wooden mullions, small-pane casements, and transoms in the lower storey. The houses are arranged in pairs of three bays, with the central bay containing a passage framed by a plain round brick arch, which leads to boarded front doors and the back yards. Above this passage, there is also a window. On the right-hand end, the passage provides access to No 23 and the yard behind 9 Wexham Street.
The return elevation on Wexham Street features three windows and has a boarded door beneath a round-headed overlight and plain brick arch. The upper left-hand window is blocked, and a window was added in the 20th century at the right end. The left gable end of No 13 is roughcast, while the rear of the houses has small-pane horizontal-sliding sashes. This terrace is part of a group that includes 13-23 Stanley Street and 9 Wexham Street.
