Description
This is a terrace of two-storey brick houses with a hipped slate roof and brick stacks. The windows are characterized by dressed limestone surrounds with monolithic jambs, round heads, and keystones on the lower storey. Two-light windows feature wooden mullions, small-pane casements, and transoms in the lower storey.
No. 1 is set at right angles and faces Wexham Street, presenting a three-window front with the entrance to the right of centre, featuring a boarded door with a round-headed overlight and a plain brick arch. The main Stanley Street elevation is organized in pairs of three-bay houses, accessed through shared central arched passages which also provide access to the back yards and their boarded doors. Some of these central bays contain blocked windows in the upper storey. A lower storey window is inscribed with "Stanley Street" within its arched head.
No. 2 is a smaller house accessed by a shared passage with No. 1. Nos. 3 and 4 form a pair. No. 5 is also a smaller house accessed by a passage also leading to the rear of No. 6. Nos. 6 and 7 are symmetrical, three-bay houses with central round-headed entrances featuring boarded doors and plain overlights; the window directly above the doorway is blind. A passage on the right-hand side of No. 7 leads to the rear and to the entrance of No. 8. Nos. 9 and 10 form a smaller pair. No. 11 is a similar three-bay house to Nos. 6 and 7, and its right-hand, two-window side wall is pebble-dashed with a boarded door to the right side.
The rear elevation features small-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows. The building belongs to the group of properties numbered 1-11 Stanley Street.
