Description

Column Cottage is a single-storey estate lodge that is symmetrically planned, featuring a central gabled porch at the front and a central rear wing. The building is constructed of rubble with gritstone dressings and has a slate roof adorned with stone copings, kneelers, and finials. It also has three central diagonally set rendered stacks with ashlar scoring. The main entrance is through a 4-centred voussoir arch located in the porch, which is flanked by two-light, 8-pane side-hung casement windows that have hood moulds carved into the lintels above. The windows in the gable end match those at the front. There is a modern flat-roofed extension at the rear.
