Description
The Sea Wall at Surf Point is a Grade II listed structure made of rubble masonry, with some parts rendered. It consists of five adjoining sections. The south-westernmost section features a round-fronted rendered cap and includes a central circular bastion. The next section is fully rendered and has an embattled round-fronted capping. The following stretch to the north-west is also embattled but has lost much of its facing render. At the north-west end, there is another circular bastion similar to the first, and the final stretch of wall is embattled with little remaining render. The rear of the wall has widely spaced buttresses with rounded caps, and there are periodic openings leading to the properties behind, which are separated by rubble walls and railings that meet the back of the seawall.
