46-48 High Street, Linlithgow

46-48 High Street in Linlithgow is an early 17th century, three-storey, two-bay traditional gable-fronted tenement that was restored in 1958. The building features a pend and a shop at ground level, with a crowstepped gable and chimney. It is constructed from cream Pardovan sandstone coursed rubble, accented with ashlar dressings on the north elevation, and has chamfered reveals.

The south elevation, which faces the entrance, has three bays at ground level, with a central door, a pend to the right, and a window to the left. The first and second floors have regular fenestration, and there is a panel with flight holes for a pigeon loft in the attic. To the outer right, there is an enclosed forestair with a segmental-arched entrance and a red pantiled roof.

The north elevation features a two-storey wing and includes a 16th century bread oven in the garden. The building has 12-pane sash and case windows, a T-plan roof, and is covered with red pantiles.
