Description
The Lock Keeper's Bothy at Bowling Harbour, located at the entrance to the Forth and Clyde Canal, is likely from the late 19th century. It has a square plan and is constructed of brick, topped with a piended slate roof and a stack on the east side. A later timber entrance porch has been added to the south. The bothy features rectangular window openings on the east and west sides, with a 4-pane timber glazing pattern on the east.
During an inspection in 2013, the interior was noted to consist of a single space that includes some remnants of a stone fire surround.
