Post Office, Bank Street, Alexandria

The building is a post office located on Bank Street in Alexandria, dated 1904. It is a single-storey, rectangular-plan structure featuring Baronial architectural details. The exterior is constructed of squared and snecked sandstone with ashlar margins and dressings, while the side elevations are made of brick. The building includes a base course, an eaves frieze cornice, and a balustraded parapet.

The main elevation has four bays that are arranged in a near-symmetrical layout. The two-bay centerpiece is slightly advanced and features a door on the left with a moulded surround, leading to a modern two-leaf boarded door. Above the door, there is an oval light in a plaque that is now blocked, and the words "Post Office" are inscribed in the parapet above. To the right of the door is a pedimented tripartite window with column mullions and a segmental pediment that breaks over the center window. A plaque with "ER" is also present, along with a triangular pediment that breaks the eaves above, with brackets inscribed "AD" to the left and "1904" to the right. Flanking the centerpiece are bipartite windows, and metal posting boxes have been inserted under the window to the right.

The building features uPVC windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, and red sandstone stacks with coped apexes and circular cans.

Additionally, there are gatepiers and a boundary wall made of channelled ashlar, with square piers that have flat coping, and a low boundary wall topped with slab coping.
