Description
This pair of imposing gatepiers forms the first set on the west drive leading to Kinnell House and is an important element of the approach to the house. Dating from the later to late 18th century, the gatepiers are circular and constructed of rubble stone with flat tops, each topped with a classical fluted urn finialed with a ball. They are part of a group of buildings of group value which includes Yellow Cottage, urn gatepiers on West Drive, lion gatepiers on West Drive, ball finial gatepiers on South Drive, Kinnell House including its walled garden and ancillary buildings, Kinnell House steading, and Kinnell House ice house. The property is currently owned by Yellow Cottage.
