Description
Carn Dearg is a villa built in the later 19th century, located on an elevated site above Luss Village. The building features whinstone construction with red sandstone margins and dressings, while the sides and rear are cement rendered. It has gabled dormerheads.
On the southeast (main) elevation, the crowstepped gable is slightly advanced at the center and has a red sandstone door surround. Above the door, there is a stone balconette that continues as a band course across the center bay. The elevation includes narrow flanking windows, a pedimented window above, and a small window to the left. At the ground level, there are flanking bipartite windows, with pedimented dormerheads above them.
The side and rear elevations are white rendered, and the villa has uPVC 6-pane over plate sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and features red terracotta cresting, along with broad corniced red sandstone ridge stacks.
