Stable, Edinglassie House Policies

The building is a stable and garage block located to the east of Edinglassie House, dating from the early 20th century to the mid-20th century. It is a tall, two-storey structure with five bays, designed symmetrically. The centre gables feature segmental-headed windows, and there are base and eaves courses that extend across the gables and window heads, creating continuous hoodmoulds. The exterior is harled with ashlar margins and quoin strips. The gables have segmental-headed windows, while the first floor has shallow horizontal windows. The doors are boarded timber, with the stable doors featuring five-part vertically-astragalled fanlights.

The entrance elevation facing the stable (south elevation of the north range) has a slightly advanced centre gable, which includes a door on the left and a horizontal window on the right, with a window in the centre of the gablehead above. The flanking bays each have a door on the left and a window on the right, with two windows above. The garage block (north elevation of the south range) has six broad garage doors at ground level, a window in the centre gable, and regular fenestration in the flanking bays on the first floor.

The windows are timber sash and case with 6-, 8-, and 12-pane glazing patterns. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are coped ashlar gablehead stacks and ashlar-coped skews with block skewputts. Decorative cast iron downpipes with rainwater hoppers are also present.

Inside, the stable retains timber loose box dividers.
