Burial Ground, Alvie Parish Church

Alvie Parish Church is a simple rectangular church built in 1768, with repairs made in 1833, 1880, and 1952. The church is oriented east to west and features harled, coursed tooled granite on the west gable. There are square-headed entrances on both the east and west gables, each flanked by plaques and topped with a round-headed gallery window. The south elevation is lit by four long, round-headed symmetrical windows, which have intricate margined glazing dating from around 1880.

At the apex of the west gable, there is a bellcote with an elongated ball finial, and another ball finial is located at the east gable. The roof is slate.

Inside, the church has been re-cast to the east and features a plank dado and pine pews, likely from 1880. There are panelled screens at both the east and west, with the west screen providing a separation for the entrance lobby and the Minister's room. The interior also includes mural memorial plaques that record the Ministers of Alvie since 1567 and the restoration of the church.

Surrounding the church is a burial ground enclosed by rubble walls. The entrance on the west side is flanked by a pair of simple square tooled rubble piers topped with shallow pyramidal caps.
