Description
Dalchully House is a mid-18th century, two-storey, five-bay house facing east. A later two-storey, three-bay wing extends from the north gable, creating an L-shaped plan. The house is constructed of whitewashed rubble with tooled ashlar margins, both painted white. The central entrance on the east elevation is now masked by a later porch with narrow, round-headed side lights, flanked by additional arched side lights. A nine-panel door leads to the wing's entrance in the re-entrant angle. The windows are regularly spaced, with later tripartite windows on the ground floor that match a similar ground floor window in the wing. Most windows have four panes of glass. There are diminutive attic windows in the gables, end and ridge stacks, and the roof is covered in local slate. Modern additions have been made to the rear of the house. A rubble garden wall stands alongside a pair of round rubble gate piers, topped with circular flat rubble caps. The property is located within the Cairngorms National Park and has historically been known as Dalcholly.
