Description

The Highland Hotel, located at 19 Main Street in Doune, dates from around 1770. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features a symmetrical five-window frontage. The exterior is made of painted snecked rubble with margins, and it has a plinth lintel course at the ground floor and an eaves course. The central door is framed by a Gibbs surround. There is a later dormer added to the roof, which is covered in slate and has end stacks. The hotel now also includes a two-storey, two-window house made of painted rubble with margins on the east side.
